Peer-to-peer fundraising options
- Become a Giving Day Champion
- Peer-to-peer emails/social shares
- We encourage volunteer managers to provide unique URLs for social posts for your volunteers to use leading up to and on Giving Day. This will allow you to track which posts brought in more traffic, gifts, and dollars. This is where you can create those URLs. You can track the progress of these URLs from our Giving Day Reporting Dashboard.
Giving Day Champions
Using the Giving Day website’s peer-to-peer fundraising tool, volunteers can help Cornell raise more, engage more, and do more! You can send volunteers to our Giving Day Champions page hosted on our alumni site to learn how.
Creating a fundraising page is easy.
1. Start at givingday.cornell.edu.
2. Search for the college, unit, or specific fund you want to support.
3. Click the “FUNDRAISE” button on the fund’s page.
4. Follow the instructions for customizing your page.
Peer-to-peer email templates
- We encourage volunteers to leverage the tools of becoming a Giving Day Champion. In addition, we have provided sample email templates that you can customize and use with your volunteers. Be sure to insert the appropriate giving link for your group. The templates are created with room for volunteers to add their own voice, but you should take these templates as a guide, and outline any specific language you want volunteers to consider when promoting their organization.
- Feel free to reference Regional Club and Alumni Association sample marketing for examples of great Giving Day emails!
