10/6/10 Update
Fall Break construction activities in the basement:
- Asbestos abatement – ducts above the corridor proximate to the reading area (B48).
- Schedule – Friday, October 8, Noon – 8 PM. Work will be complete for Saturday morning opening.
- The corridor, some study tables and collections will be inaccessible beyond the entrance to the reading area and the fiche cabinets. A map for negotiating this part of the basement will be posted.
- Installation of fire dampers at the ceiling level along the east/west corridor in B48 (reading room/collections space)
- Schedule – Monday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 11
- The space will remain accessible, but it will be noisy and circulation routes will vary over the course of the work.
