Postdoctoral Researcher Expectations

  • Maintain an active literature search for papers related to your project(s) and read continually
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings
  • Operate independently and play a leadership role in managing your projects
  • Develop your research ideas and discuss with me about experimental design
  • Seek the necessary materials for complete your work. Interpret results
  • Write up high-quality manuscript draft and publication-ready figure for me to review and revise
  • Coordinate among team members, developing new collaboration (discuss with me first before proceeding)
  • Set up a good example for the junior member to follow

  • Time and effort distribution: 75% research, 15% career development, 10% service

Successful experimental post-doc applicants will have:

  • A PhD in genetics, genomics, epigenetics, embryology, molecular biology or other discipline with relevant training
  • Experience with AI, IVF, tissue culture, microscopy or NGS library preparation (data analysis preferred!)
  • At least two first author or co-first author papers with submitted, accepted, or published status in peer-reviewed journals
  • Capable of independent research, writing manuscript, multitasking, and working in a collaborative atmosphere both within and outside the laboratory
  • Goal oriented, highly self-motivated and dedicated to be productive and open to interdisciplinary projects

Successful computational post-doc applicants will have:

  • A PhD in a biological, computational, or statistics-related field or other discipline with relevant training
  • Strong bioinformatics and programming skills: Python, R, C++ or Javascript
  • Ability to build pipelines and develop tools for multi-omics NGS data analysis
  • At least two first author or co-first author papers with submitted, accepted, or published status in peer-reviewed journals
  • Capable of independent research, writing manuscript, multitasking, and working in a collaborative atmosphere both within and outside the laboratory
  • Goal oriented, highly self-motivated and dedicated to be productive and open to interdisciplinary projects
