Bio: Dr. Chen is a senior lecturer at the School of Computing, Informatics & Decision Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. His research interests include: Service-oriented computing, cloud computing, and big data systems; Embedded systems and robotics, Internet of Things, and Robot as a Service (RaaS).

Adam Polak

Bio: An Aerospace Engineering student at the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University, Adam’s interests include designing and flying remote control aircraft; control systems development; rapid prototyping and video production. He is the founder of Polakium Engineering and is also a research assistant at School of Earth & Space Exploration at ASU.

Bio: After having worked for 3 years in the software development industry, his passion for learning, building, hacking and inventing things brought him to pursue his masters education. Self-proclaimed web enthusiast & robo-hactivist, he likes to explore new places, besides “dreaming, creating, sharing & then repeating”. He is also a public/corporate speaker, and frequents hackathons in pursue of that “missing idea”.

Sami Mian [Logistics Expert]

Bio: Besides leading the Sun Devils Robotics Club as the Club President, Sami is also a veteran of the Intel-Cornell Cup, having participated twice previously. He is a Computer Systems Engineering student, and has a lot of research under his belt. His latest endeavor allowed him to work with Autonomous driving vehicles at National University of Singapore.

David Ingraham [Hardware Expert]

Bio: David is a passionate maker, and loves to build things, especially the ones that “want” to fly! He is the Treasurer of the SDRC, and is also the UAV expert of the club. He has tonnes of experience in building, printing and assembling “all things that can fly”! Besides his passion, he is a Mechanical Engineering student at ASU and also an Undergraduate RA at ASU Neural Control of Motion Laboratory.
