Welcome to my website!   I am the Samuel C. Johnson Professor in Global Sustainable Enterprise and Professor of Management at the S.C. Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. Prior to joining Cornell, I taught at Harvard Business School for 10 years. I am also an Associate Editor at Administrative Science Quarterly.

My teaching and research examines how the interaction between civil society, governments and corporations leads to socially and environmentally beneficial outcomes.  A particular emphasis is on how these processes unfold in China. Please see my CV, biography and Google Scholar site for more information about my research.

I received a PhD in Sociology and Organizational Behavior from the University of Michigan.
