New York State Weekly Weather Outlook – May 16, 2013

Last week temperatures ranged from 6 degrees below normal up to 3 degrees above normal in the Champlain Valley region.  Precipitation ranged from half an inch to two inches.  The base 50 growing degree-days ranged from 25 to 50.

Warm and dry through the weekend as high pressure is in control.

Today will be warm with temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s.  Overnight lows will only drop to the 40’s.

Friday’s temperatures will be slightly cool, but seasonable, in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.  Friday night’s temperatures will be throughout the 40’s.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the upper 60’s and low 70’s.  Lows will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Sunday will be partly sunny, with a slight chance for light showers and temperatures in the upper 60’s and low 70’s.  Lows will be in the upper 40’s and low 50’s.

Monday will warm into the low to mid 70s’ with showers possible.  Lows will range throughout the 50’s.

Tuesday will be another warm day with highs in the mid to upper 70’s, with showers possible.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 50’s.

Wednesday’s highs will be throughout the 70’s with showers possible.  Lows will be in the low to mid 60’s.

The five-day precipitation amounts will be ¼” or less.

The 8-14 day out look (May 23-29) is showing normal temperatures and above normal precipitation.  Areas in the Catskills and Adirondacks are abnormally dry.
