Below is a list of postings to the Cornell Nutrient Management Spear Program (NMSP) website in March and April. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation by farmers, extension educators, consulting firms, NRCS and SWCD staff, we have 45 fully replicated (4x) nitrogen rate studies (5 N rates so we can determine the optimum N rate) in place this year, through the New York On-Farm Research Partnership and with funding from a NRCS-CIG, the Northern New York Agricultural Development Program (NNYADP) and federal formula funds. The first three of those 45 trials will be harvested on Monday, with the rest following later this month. If interested in seeing some of the fields, check out the Google Map with pictures and video that Bill Verbeten of the NWNY Dairy, Livestock, & Field Crops Team put together for the western NY sites in the study (see link below):
