Fusarium, tulips, not as simple; ethylene production of innoculated tulips,

May 2007 issue of the Cornell Flower Bulb Research Program Research Newsletter:

Ethylene evolution is a well-known result of Fusarium infection of tulip bulbs. We inoculated bulbs of 36 cultivars with a liquid Fusarium suspension (isolated from Dutch-grown bulbs), and held at 21C. Ethylene production was monitored by gas chromatography. It was found that Fusarium produced very different levels of ethylene, depending on the cultivar.
