Strawberries: Fruit are rotting or discolored prior to harvest

  • Fruit exhibit brown, water-soaked spots and a grayish mold, especially near the calyx end
  • Fruit exhibit a dry rot prior to harvest and have a bad odor/flavor
  • Fruit show sunken black spots after warm, wet weather
  • Upper sides of berries exhibit a water-soaked, bleached out appearance
  • Fruit is brown and totally dry.
