Grazing workshop, March 28, Madison County

Grazing Planning Towards What You Want Workshop

Do you want more quality grazing days? Are you ready to make more money within your grazing system? Are you dealing with weather events proactively? Do you want to limit stress points in your operation? Can you get away for a vacation during the growing season?

If you’re interested in becoming more resilient economically, environmentally and emotionally, then join veteran grazier and Madison County’s Soil and Water Conservation District Grazing Specialist, Troy Bishopp, aka The Grass Whisperer, on Wednesday March 28th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Madison County Cornell Cooperative Extension office at 100 Eaton St. in Morrisville, NY for an evening of practical four season grazing strategies.

Using Bishopp’s custom “Jumbo-tron” grazing chart tool, farmers can see and actively plan or predict changes in recovery periods and see trouble brewing while developing management scenarios to save money at every decision. Troy’s light-hearted; show and tell format will draw on his own farm grazing experience and approaches from his mentors to implementing a consistent season right into winter grazing.

Participants are asked to review their own grazing plans so the group can have comprehensive conversation from all angles in developing a grazing plan that really works. An ice-cream social will also be served to add nutrients for a lively conversation.
