• Requirements for setting up a Feeder Calf Pool – Dr. Mike Baker, Cornell
• Grading feeder calves
• Blaine Winger, Cattle Procurement Coordinator for United Producers, Inc (UPI) will share information on risk management tools offered including contracts and agriculture loans for your beef business.
• Dr. Shannon Carpenter, DVM with Division of Animal Industry, NYS Department of Ag & Markets  – “Vaccinations and health management for weaning or stocker cattle”
• Discussion on managing manure compost piles to optimize nutrients to return to the soil
• Local agribusiness representatives co-sponsoring the program will share information on their products and services available to producers
• Demonstration of the “Big Foot Baler” now available to bale agricultural plastics for recycling. Producers are welcome to bring their agricultural plastics to bale (please contact Lisa Kempisty at 664-9502 ext. 203 for Super Sacks to store and transport the plastic).
