Rosy is an Ithaca native studying plant science with a concentration in evolution and systematics. She hails from a small organic farm, Kingbird Farm, where she grew up surrounded by plants both wild and cultivated. Rosy’s passions include tropical and alpine plants, agrobiodiversity conservation, and botanical illustration. Whenever possible, she takes advantage of opportunities to travel the world in search of astonishing plants. She joined the lab as a field assistant on the Suriname Rice Project and continues to help out as we analyze the rice collections here in Ithaca. She looks forward to completing her degree at Cornell and eventually working toward a postgraduate degree in botany.
