Tompkins Pollinator Pathway

Engaging the Community to Restore Plant and Pollinator Biodiversity

Join the Pollinator Pathway

We are excited to share the Tompkins County Pollinator Pathway map! It shows how habitats you create connect to form a corridor, or “Pathway,” that allows pollinators to move across the county, finding food and nesting habitat along the way. This map shows our progress in restoring native plant and pollinator diversity in the area and helps build community awareness and support.

The yellow points represent those who take the Pollinator Pathway Pledge — a first step towards showing our communities’ enthusiasm and efforts toward creating pollinator-friendly habitats. If you haven’t taken the pledge yet and would like to, you can access the pledge here.

The orange points on the map show where private individuals report growing native plants to creating habitat in their yards, meadows, or woods. Locations shown on the map are approximate to maintain privacy. Please tell us about your habitat by answering some questions here  Tompkins Pollinator Pathway Map and help us grow the pathway!

The green squares show public areas where local organizations are creating pollinator habitats that you can visit. We hope to link to these areas and to agricultural lands in our county, so that our native pollinators can continue to support our local food system.

Please note that, while the map is available to the public, we will not display any personal information such as individuals’ names or addresses. People viewing the on-line map only see approximate locations of private habitats.
