Engaging the Community to Restore Plant and Pollinator Biodiversity

Pollinators & Our Food

Pollinators are necessary for agricultural production and the maintenance of sustainable food systems. About one-third of the food we eat comes from crops pollinated by insects and other animals. Compared to other methods of pollination, such as wind and self-pollination, animal pollination is a very efficient method of delivering pollen from plant to plant, and many plants depend on exclusively on pollinators.
