Join Cornell extension specialist Robert Hadad and New York Soil Health extension associate Joseph Amsili at Kingbird Farm for an educational on-farm field day!

  • Robert Hadad, Extension Vegetable Specialist, will share insight to farmstead food safety regulation and answer producer questions.
  • Joseph Amsili, Soil and Crop Sciences Section Associate, will demonstrate slaking and basic infiltration for soil health management.

11:15 am – 12:00 pm – Robert Hadad provides and overview of food safety regulation for Farmstead Practices

1:30 pm – 2:00 pm – Joseph Amsili provides slaking demo and a basic infiltration demo

 

Learn how Kingbird Farm owners Karma and Michael Glos plan for optimizing their farm’s productive capacity while producing safe, nutrient-dense foods. Managing the many facets of a farm that produces vegetables, chickens, and other livestock can create challenges when it comes to food safety considerations, but it also provides huge opportunities in developing healthy, living, highly productive soils.
