The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has said that carbon sequestration accounts for a large portion of global agricultural mitigation potential. With that in mind, Green America  has launched a two-year campaign to educate people on the benefits of regenerative agriculture through its Climate Victory Gardens campaign. Regenerative agriculture is an approach to improve and revitalize soil health.

Victory gardens, also called war gardens or food gardens for defense, were vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens planted at private residences and public parks in the United States that during World War I and World War II. By 1944, an estimated 20 million victory gardens produced roughly 8 million tons of food—which was the equivalent of more than 40 percent of all the fresh fruits and vegetables consumed in the United States.
