Indigenous plant/soil science faculty position discussion

We need your feedback about a potential Indigenous plant/soil science tenure track position. Ethnobotany, Indigenous agriculture, biodiversity conservation, human dimensions of soil – which focus area is most interesting to you? What courses would you like to see offered, and what sorts of research or extension would enrich your experience at Cornell? We’ll be in the atrium outside Mann Café with an easel notepad the next two Mondays!

  • Monday, 2/12, 1-2pm
  • Monday, 2/19, 10-11am

We are appreciative of guidance from American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program Director Troy Richardson as well as Steven Johnson and Michael Charles that we need to attain the best possible understanding of the interests of SIPS students, faculty, and staff so that if this position is funded and filled, the new faculty would have support and collaborators built in. Thank you as well to former AIISP Director Kurt Jordan for our initial conversations.

We hope to see you soon,

Bryan Brown, Whitman Barrett, Krisztina Mosdossy, Rebecca Nelson, Chelsea Specht

The current group enthusiastic about this position. Please join us – especially Indigenous students!
