Seven faculty members affiliated with the School of Integrative Plant Science have been named by Clarivate to the 2023 list of highly cited researchers in their fields. They include SIPS faculty Johannes Lehmann (Agricultural Sciences), Susan McCouch (Cross-field), and Yiqi Luo (Environment & Ecology). SIPS adjunct and courtesy faculty on the list are Ed Buckler (Cross-field), Zhangjun Fei (Plant & Animal Science), Jim Giovannoni (Plant & Animal Science), and Lukas Mueller (Cross-field).
Thirty five Cornell faculty are included on the 2023 list in addition to six at Cornell Medical Center. Each researcher selected has authored multiple Highly Cited Papers which rank in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year in the Web of Science over the past decade. However, citation activity is not the sole selection indicator. A preliminary list based on citation activity is then refined using qualitative analysis and expert judgement.
