Eight faculty members affiliated with the School of Integrative Plant Science have been named by the Web of Science Group to the 2021 list of highly cited researchers in their fields. They include SIPS faculty Adam Bogdanove (Cross-field), Johannes Lehmann (Environment & Ecology), and Mark Sorrells (Cross-field). SIPS adjunct and courtesy faculty on the list are Ed Buckler (Molecular Biology & Genetics), Zhangjun Fei (Plant & Animal Science), Jim Giovannoni (Plant & Animal Science), Jean-Luc Jannink (Cross-field), and Lukas Mueller (Cross-field).
Forty-one Cornell faculty are included on the 2021 list in addition to five at Cornell Medical Center. For this analysis, the papers surveyed were those published and cited during 2010-2020 and which at the end of 2020 ranked in the top 1% by citations for their field and year. Web of Science is a website which provides subscription-based access to multiple databases that provide comprehensive citation data for many different academic disciplines. It is currently maintained by Clarivate Analytics (previously the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters).
