Forty-one exceptional undergraduate students will be visiting for Diversity Preview Weekend (DPW) from sites across the nation including Washington, California, Illinois, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Over the course of the weekend, the visitors will learn about Cornell’s graduate programs, meet with students and faculty, and receive advice on how to best represent themselves in graduate school application processes. The purpose of this program is to increase the number of students who apply, are accepted, and ultimately enroll in our programs, with the end goal of increasing the diversity and inclusivity of our graduate student community.
The event is hosted by graduate students in SIPS, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Entomology. DPW 2019 co-leaders from SIPS are Jess Choi, Andrea Lugo-Torres, Chris Peritore Galve, and Eugene Law, with additional support from SIPS senior DPW co-leaders Julia Miller and Nicholas Segerson.
