Weeks of 7/11 and 7/18

Hello again, world! These past two weeks have flown by, while simultaneously dragging along at a snail’s pace. I have been emailing to connect with experts in viticulture extension. Because the summer is a busy time for the agricultural industry, our contacts have to tend to the farms first- doing pest management and calculating harvest yields. By the time I eventually set up a meeting, my internship with the project will have ended, but I am happy to put in the work now for a future resource, even if I am not directly involved.

The final product of my internship will be a binder that has a collection of activities, lesson plans, and resources to guide educators through teaching youth about grapes. We want to make the curriculum accessible to educators who are not familiar with grapes. We also want it to be engaging and informative, while leaving it flexible enough for all counties across New York to be able to utilize it. Mingla has helped by providing me with a physical binder to organize everything, so it is not all digital. I have found that going to on campus locations is helpful to get work done, as remote work (especially individual work) is difficult for me.
