The influence of media about consent in relationships is interesting because of the romantic comedies I laughed and cried about, the perseverance of a guy/girl makes the romantic relationship last. However, we can see it as a disrespectful way to disregard the other person’s feelings and it is definitely worthwhile to think more about the gap between the image of love in films and in reality.
This is really interesting. I had never really considered the ways representations of love in romantic comedies can impact the ways we view love and relationships in our own lives. How, if at all, do you see social media playing a role in creating unrealistic relationship expectations as well?
This is very interesting to me because I’ve always been so turned off by super mushy gushy romantic films where the guy chases after the girl despite her wishes. I always just thought it was so unnatural and not an accurate depiction of what should/will happen in real life if someone were to do the same.
