With technology being so prevalent nowadays, it’s easy to forget the importance of in-person appointments/chats. In fact, the email etiquette seminar really reminded me that while technology makes it more convenient to find opportunities, it’s important that we do not rely on technology to take the place of ourselves.
In other words, the emphasis on keeping professional emails short and to the point in order to trigger follow up conversations/appointments indicates that we shouldn’t be sending monologues of ourselves to career professionals. Instead, we should focus on creating interesting conversations and forming genuine connections.
