Learning from Zootopia

Last Friday, I watched Zootopia with my friends. It was a nice way to spend time away from studying for the finals and relieving stress. I always thought that this movie is children’s movie and watching this movie again brought back my childhood memories. However, I realized that there is a greater meaning to the movie Zootopia. This time, I learned that this movie is actually teaching me some lessons. I realized that sometimes it is necessary to question what our society is asking us to do. In addition, we might have to challenge the rules and norms set by society in order to achieve what we think is right.

  1. I agree! Sometimes we see children movies and don’t notice that they are meant to teach us a lesson in the simplest of ways. Watching Zootopia now versus to how old I was back when I watched it the first time showed me how much my perspective has changed and how many children movies helped in my growing up because of the lessons they taught us. I have definitely learned to appreciate them more, especially in these times where we could use some simple and heartwarming.

  2. I agree ! I think it displays many issues that are currently present in The United States. For example, Zootopia’s polical corruption conducted by Mayor Lionheart and the political corruption in our country. Also, the racism present in the United States and the hatred towards Zootopia’s predator citizens.
