AIAA, ASME, ASTM: An Alphabet Soup of New Resources

A number of new databases, packages of journal backfiles and technical standards have recently been purchased and made available for the Cornell University community. Some work is still going on to integrate these resources into the catalog, but all should be available shortly. Stay tuned for more updates and links:

1.) American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) backfiles, 1980s to present for 25 different ASME journals

2.) We have obtained a backfile package from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It includes:

AIAA Meeting Papers Archive, 1963-2009, including current papers

AIAA Journal Archive, 1963 to date

Journal of Guidance, Control and Dynamics archive, 1978 to date

3.) American Society for the Testing of Materials (ASTM) Standards and Digital Library. (This resource is presently available on a provisional basis on-campus and is being tweaked to work for off-campus users as well. Access can be considered to be in “beta” at the moment.) The ASTM Standards is a collection of 12,000 technical standards while the Library includes publications from a broad range of engineering disciplines, including aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, environmental, geological, health and safety, industrial, materials science, mechanical, nuclear, petroleum, soil science, and solar engineering.

4.) Lyell Collection (earth and atmospheric science).

5.) OnePetro (geology and petrology)
