Dr. Tashara M. Leak is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences (primary appointment) and an Assistant Professor of Nutrition Research in Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine (secondary appointment). Her research addresses racial/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in diet and obesity-related health outcomes (e.g., type 2 diabetes mellitus) among adolescents in urban communities. Dr. Leak’s research program is based in New York City and she is deeply committed to designing evidence-based, culturally tailored interventions that can be scaled up and sustained at the population level.
