Welcome to Agricultural Soils of the City!

Our team of researchers, extension educators, and community partners is working together with urban gardeners and farmers to promote healthy soils and healthy communities.

We bring together expertise in soil & crop sciences, horticulture and entomology and our team includes researchers and extension staff from Cornell University, Cornell Tech, Harvest NY, CUNY and many community partners.

Our aim is to learn about the biology, chemistry and physical qualities of composts and soils in cities to develop healthy, productive soils that support urban agriculture and sustainable landscapes.
