This week we have continued to clean up the property in preparation for the upcoming dedication ceremony. The whole team learned how to edge and mulch to make plant beds look clean and pretty. These skills are important for our program members to learn so they can tune their attention to detail, and so that they have skills that can be translated directly into landscaping jobs. Our first member to join the program has worked with us to find a longterm job, and started work with them this Thursday. We are sad to see him go because he was such a great part of the team, but we are very excited that he has this next opportunity and will continue to lend support as needed. We also made our first food donation to a homeless shelter in Rochester with about 35 pounds of fresh produce.
