This week was incredibly productive and I got thrown right into the action! On Day 1 we used a sod stripper to form our planting rows. Throughout the week we went to the county greenhouse to pick up our seedlings, which had been started by my supervisor, Marci Muller, a couple months ago. There are a lot of plants to get in the ground! We’re trying to do as much companion planting as possible with everything from cabbage to beans to potato to dill.
On Day 3 I planted about 50 tomato plants. That was a lot of work, but it’s really nice to see something growing out there now. It’s been great to get know everyone in the office, and I have been welcomed very warmly by the whole staff. The progress we’ve made in the last week is something I’m quite proud of; the plot already looks completely different than when I started!
