Hibiscus Flower

செம்பருத்திப் பூ

இந்த வார வகுப்பில் நான் செம்பருத்திப் பூவை வைத்து அதில் உள்ள சில நினைவுகளை என் நண்பர்களிடம்

பகிர்ந்தேன் அவற்றில் சில….

முதன் முதலாக என்னொட அம்மாவின் கையால் நான் ஒரு செம்பருத்தி பூச்செடி போட்டேன். என்னுடைய அம்மா அந்த பூச்செடிக்கு தினமும் தண்ணீர் ஊற்றி பாதுகாக்கும் போதெல்லாம் நான் அதைப் பார்த்து ஏலனமாய் சிரித்தேன். காரணம் அந்த செடி வளர்ந்து இப்படி அழகாய் பூக்கும் என்று எனக்கு தெரியாது, ஏனா எங்க வீட்டு வாசல் முன்னாடி எவ்வளவ்வோ பூச்செடிப் போட்டுருக்கேன், ஆனால் அது வளரவில்லை இறந்து விடுகிறது. அதுப் போல இந்த செடியும் இறந்துவிடும் என்று நினைத்தேன்.

அதற்கு பிறகு அந்த செடியில் முதன் முறை இரண்டு சின்ன இலை வளர்ந்தது. அந்த நேரத்தில் எனக்கு என்ன தோநுச்சுனா எத்தனையோ செடி இதே மாதிரி வளரும் ஆனால் அது இறந்து விடும். அதுப்போல இந்த செடியும் இறந்து விடவில்லை வளரத் தொடங்கியது. சில நாட்களுக்கு பிறகு அது மிகவும் நன்றாக வளரத்தொடங்கியது. நான் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தேன். அந்த செடி வளர்ந்தப்பிறகு தினமும் எங்கள் வீட்டு முன்னாடி பூத்துக்குவிப்பதை பார்க்கையில் எனக்கு மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கும். அன்றேயில் இருந்து செம்பருத்தி பூ எனக்கு மிகவும் பிடிக்கும். அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல் அன்றேயில் இருந்து எந்த இடத்தில் செம்பருத்தி பூவை பார்த்தாலும் என்னுடைய “அம்மா” ஞாபகம் வந்துவிடும். அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல் சின்ன சின்ன குழந்தைகள் கூட தினமும் அந்தப்பூவை பரித்து எடுத்து தலையில் சூடிக்கொள்வர்.

பயன்:

இதன் இலை, பூ தலை முடி வளர்வதற்காகவும் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.
இதன் பூ ஆய்வகத்தில் ஆராய்ச்சி செய்வதற்காக பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.
As part of our class activities we were asked to share our personal thoughts on one of our favourite things. I shared my memories of hibiscus flower with my friends.

My mother helped me to plant a hibiscus sampling for the first time. I used to laugh at seeing my mother watering the sampling because all the other plants that were planted in front of our house almost died before giving any flowers. So, I assumed the same case with this hibiscus plant too. But, to my surprise, I saw two baby leaves coming out of the plant’s stick. I realised how I was wrong about this plant which started to grow well. I was very happy to see the bunch of flowers from the plant that stood in front of our house. From then on, I started to get a liking towards the hibiscus flower. Also, whenever I come across this plant, I get reminded of my mother and it is always nice to see how young children used to pluck this flower and wear it in their hair.

Its uses:

The leaf and the flower are used as hair conditioners for good hair growth.
The flower is used in science laboratories for experiments.
