Graduate Students

We are continuously in search for highly self-motivated individuals who are interested in molecular and food toxicology.  If you are interested in applying, please send me an email with your CV, GRE, (and TOEFL) scores and your interest.  Candidates with basic knowledge in biological sciences and prior research experience in molecular biology, histology, and/or analytical chemistry will be given priorities and are encouraged to apply.  English proficiency in writing, reading and speaking is a requirement.   Graduate students are admitted through graduate fields.   I am affiliated with 1) Food Science and Technology and (http://foodscience.cornell.edu/cals/foodsci/academics/graduate/), 2) Animal Science (http://ansci.cals.cornell.edu/graduate) 3) Environmental Toxicology (http://foodscience.cornell.edu/toxicology/).  Follow links here for more detail about this opening and links to the right to learn about specific graduate fields.  PhD candidates are preferred but MPS and MS students will also be considered.  Students with scholarships/ fellowships with interest in toxicology are also encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Previous experience in toxicology is not required but extensive expertise in at least one of the following areas is required to apply to our laboratory: 1) molecular biology, 2) imaging or 3) liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry methods.  Someone with experience working with zebrafish as a model will be preferred.   If you are interested, please send me an email with your CV and statement of research experience and interest together with names of three references.  Adequate English proficiency (both speaking and writing) is an absolute requirement.  Scholars with scholarships/fellowships with interest in toxicology are also encouraged to apply.

Undergraduate Students

We accept 1-2 highly motivated undergraduate students in my laboratory each year to do research.  Students interested in research careers in chemical food safety and toxicology, who are sophomores or freshman and interested in pursuing a Honors thesis in their senior year should send their CVs, transcript, and an email stating reasons for interest in research.   Student should have sufficient time to devote to research (usually 9-12 hrs/week, with 3-4 consecutive hr blocks).
