The Virginia Tech Engineering Mechanics program (https://beam.vt.edu/graduate/mechanics.html) is offering an opportunity for students considering graduate school to learn about our program, interact (virtually) with students and faculty, and explore if the VT EM program might be the right fit for them. I invite you to share this information with graduating seniors or MS students in your program.
They are currently accepting applications to participate in our Prospective Student Week during December 7-11, 2020. More details are available in the application form at https://bit.ly/VTMechanicsWeek2020 and in the PDF document attached below; I have also attached a general brochure for the EM program. Applications to participate in the Prospective Student Week that are received by November 27 will receive full consideration.
Opportunities to join the Engineering Mechanics program include expected openings to work with the following faculty advisors:
- Batra, Romesh (https://beam.vt.edu/people/faculty/batra.html): Response of sandwich structures/composites to extreme environments
- DeVita, Raffaella (https://beam.vt.edu/people/faculty/devita.html): Computational/experimental/theoretical solid mechanics
- Dillard, David (https://beam.vt.edu/people/faculty/dillard.html): Fracture and durability of adhesive bonds
- Doerzaph, Zachary (https://beam.vt.edu/people/faculty/doerzaph.html): Advanced vehicle R&D, including crash causation, connected vehicle systems, automated vehicle systems, and advanced driver assistance systems.
