ABSOLUTE Last Day to DROP a COURSE (petition required) – FRIDAY, November 18th (4:00pm)
If you wish to drop a course, it will be necessary to submit a completed add/drop slip and petition form; a “W” will appear on your transcript next to the course. The add/drop slip must be stamped/initialed by the department that offers the course and the petition form must be signed by your faculty advisor—therefore it is important that you give yourself enough time to procure the stamps and signature by the deadline. Submit add/drop slips and petition forms to the Engineering Registrar’s Office in 158 Olin Hall.
REQUESTS FOR EXTENSIONS TO DROP
We are aware that there are some prelims late in the term and the results may influence your decision to drop a course. Please check your evening prelim schedule now at
https://registrar.cornell.edu/Sched/PRELF.html.
If you have a late term prelim exam AND do not have enough information about your current status in that course, you will need to speak with Engineering Advising to request an extension. A late term prelim exam is one that falls between November 1st and November 29th.
To officially request an extension:
Make an appointment at Engineering Advising NO LATER THAN 4:00pm on Friday, November 18th to discuss your situation
OR
Visit the Engineering Advising extension walk-in hours on Friday, November 18th from 9pm-3pm in 167 Olin Hall
If granted an extension, you will have until Friday, December 2nd at 4:00pm to submit an add/drop slip and petition form to the Engineering Registrar’s Office in 158 Olin Hall.
