Sunscald on peppers

Fruit exposed to direct sunlight can be damaged. Healthy plants typically have plenty of leaves to cover fruit and protect them from exposure. Sunscald occurs on diseased plants when the canopy is sparse. Extensive defoliation can occur with bacterial leaf spot because diseased leaves drop from pepper plants before they are severely affected or dead.
