3 Reasons San Diego Is a Great Place to Live

San Diego is a Southern California city known for its beautiful beaches and year-long sunshine. It has many tourist attractions besides beaches, including parks, museums, gardens, and a fantastic zoo. Besides being an ideal vacation spot, San Diego is also one of the best places to live in the Golden State and maybe even the country. With gorgeous weather, great job opportunities, and plenty of fun things to do on the weekends, San Diego has a lot to offer anyone who’s looking for a new city to call home. From fine dining to gyms to good schools to bail bonds San Diego has all the amenities and services you could want.

If you’re not sure San Diego is the right place for you, here are three great things about living in San Diego.

1. The Weather

San Diego is known for having great weather throughout the year. If you hate rainy days and cold temperatures, this might be the city for you. Typically, San Diego experiences 344 days a year that reach a temperature hotter than 60°F, but only 25 days that are hotter than 80°F. On average the city gets less than 12 inches of precipitation annually. With mild winters and few rainy days, you can enjoy the outdoors all year long in San Diego, and it’s not uncommon for its beaches to receive visitors during the winter months.

Of course, not everyone loves a mild climate year-round. If you enjoy the experience of four distinct seasons or snowy winters, San Diego might not be for you. Also, since it gets very little rain, along with much of California, San Diego is prone to droughts and at times residents are required to cut down on water usage.

2. The Food

San Diego has an incredible variety of amazing restaurants. With thousands of different restaurants to choose from, you’ll never run out of new places to try. You’ll find a number of different cuisines within the city limits, with Mexican food being among the most popular. Delicious tacos are easily acquired in San Diego, as well as mouth-watering seafood. San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood offers a number of excellent Italian restaurants along with other great cuisines.

Besides the food, San Diego is also home to a number of craft breweries, some of which are among the best in the world. If you’re a craft beer lover, you’ll find this city has some great breweries where you can hang out with your friends while drinking amazing beer.

3. Things to Do

There’s so much to do in San Diego, it would take a lifetime to get around to everything. From famous tourist sites to hidden gems, there’s so much to see in this Southern California city. If you love being a tourist in your own city, San Diego has a wide range of activities to offer. Here are just a few:

  • The San Diego Zoo. Known as one of the best zoos in the world, the San Diego Zoo offers the unbeatable experience of getting to see many of the world’s most breathtaking creatures. It’s one of the few zoos where you can see Giant Pandas, an opportunity you shouldn’t miss. Instead of cramped cages, the San Diego Zoo provides its animals with open-air enclosures that mimic their natural habitats.
  • Balboa Park. This 1,200-acre park has so much to see that you’ll have to visit several times to experience it to the full. Its grounds are home to 15 museums, The Old Globe theatre, gorgeous gardens, and amazing architecture.
  • Legoland. The perfect place to bring the kids, or kids at heart, Legoland is one of many popular amusement parks in Southern California. With rides, water slides, live shows, an aquarium, and more, it provides non-stop entertainment for any Lego fan.

Its incredible restaurant and brewery scenes make it any foodie’s paradise. And with tons of unique places to visit and entertaining activities to enjoy, it’s definitely not a boring place to live.
