Week 6

Our research vineyard needed quite a bit of work this week. We cluster thinned, weeded the rows with the baby hybrid vines, and irrigated for the first couple of times this season. I also spent some time this week helping the vegetable pathology department transplant basil and cucumber plants for a few experiments they were setting up. I spent a couple particularly hot afternoons inside creating tags for each vine in the research vineyard which will be used to help collect and organize data during harvest in the fall. On Friday, we went back to our replicated mycorrhizae trial to retake shoot width measurements and count shoots on each vine.
