In the class we learned about sponsored search and web structures that includes social networks and markets where people exchange information and interact with each other. However, the idea of web that these concepts were based upon, from my understanding, is more of Web 2.0 where there is a ‘owner’ of the data and information flowing on the internet who have certain level of access to them more than anyone else. With Web 3.0 being brought up more and more, the centralized internet which most of us are used to has begun to be transformed into something decentralized and more open to everyone. A great example for this would be NFTs.

As a building block of the emerging Metaverse, NFTs are all across different ecosystems that are constantly being updated and added news ones to. They can be seen as borders that make the NFT world borderless as a whole. In the traditional Web 2.0, sponsored search engine like Google is often problematic with examples like how different users who search for the same thing got completely different results and how indexed links have their rankings and position on the page which does not make sense to every user. And the address links in protocols they use make content access unstable at times. With the new Web 3.0 that is without a centralized database, the web can be seen rather as an ever-expanding map of distribution points and nodes interconnected by participants. One of its types of objects can be NFTs which store unique digital information and contain certain value which marks a prominent start of a brand new world.
