If we treat each asset as a node and link them to one another, weights can represent the cost needed to run a particular part of the architecture. This could be drawn out and would be fixed until further development is made with the architecture by means of adding more servers. Now with cloud computing and assets available on-demand, the networks can be changed with ease and different types of networks can be compared. If we go to the analogy that assets are nodes and the edges carry the cost of using an asset, a company can optimize its infrastructure to deliver the best performance while still maintaining a minimum cost.
