As weird as it may be to think about, networks aren’t just in the world around us, they are within us as well. It’s a lot easier to wrap one’s head around viewing the internet as a network, the markets as a network, or even social media as a network. However, we often times neglect to mention, or simply forget, that the most important and essential networks on this planet are within every single on of us. Inside every person on this planet are ten major systems include the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and the reproductive system. Each of these systems can be viewed as their own networks.
As well as being able to be viewed as their own networks we can also consider these 10 systems, instead, be considered as cooperating components within a larger graph with many bridges interconnecting the different components and nodes. The complete loss of bridges or connection between any two nodes within the bodily network would cause the isolation of a component. This would cause the creation of a giant component and a solo connected component and would be devastating to the operation and survival of the bodily network as a whole. The same network rules that apply out here apply within the body. This way of viewing the body takes the importance of networks to another level. It adds perspective and truly shows how integral networks and relationships are in our lives.
