Cornell University

We provide data access services to campus using any appropriate mechanisms, our primary tool, however, is the Boomi platform’s Integrations and API Management capabilities.  Boomi’s human interface is served by the vendor while its execution environments are under Cornell’s control (vender hosting available).

The human interface provides automatic versioning and deployment of solutions while the execution environment is robust enough for live production “rolling” restarts without losing any data.  Boomi does all software updates automatically (Java based).

A reliable production environment and robust, automatic versioning allows the team to focus on solutions that benefit the university as a whole.   Using event queueing, for instance, provides near real-time data updates to interested parties while guaranteeing delivery to those temporarily unavailable.   Event queues also provide audit capabilities by default.

Citizen developers are also part of the integration team’s vision.  Boomi environments can be multi-tenant allowing for colleges and divisions to have their own execution platform isolated from one another.  We offer our services to build integrations specifically for those areas but, more importantly, encourage and mentor developers from those areas to participate; to this end, Boomi offers free training to anyone who wishes to become involved.  Contact us for more information.
