Community Service

GraPH regularly engages in community service opportunities with organizations internal and external to Cornell. We feel fortunate to have developed relationships with the following organizations. Please reach out to us or the organization directly if you’re interested in getting involved.

Loaves & Fishes, located in downtown Ithaca, provides free meals to the local community. You can volunteer for morning, afternoon, or evening shifts here or by emailing the organization at info@loaves.org.

Finger Lakes Land Trust is a non-profit organization devoted to protecting and conserving natural areas in the Central New York region. Opportunities are available throughout the year to assist in trail clean up, invasive species removal, and more! Keep an eye out for volunteer opportunities on their website or reach out at info@fllt.org.

Mentorship Opportunity for Afghan Students at the Asian University for Women (AUW): Many young women from Afghanistan currently studying at the Asian University for Women (AUW) are seeking mentorship from Cornell University students, staff, and faculty. This mentorship is informal and can range from help practicing English to help applying to U.S. Universities. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill out this form. Once the form is submitted, we will connect you to a student at AUW. From there, you will reach out to your student independently and meet as frequently as you like to discuss whatever topics your mentee would prefer. Once you begin mentoring, we will also connect you will a supportive group of existing mentors at Cornell who will share insight and resources throughout the mentorship process. If you have any further questions, please email Nia at nmc72@cornell.edu.
