Submission Guidelines for Fruition Blog

Thematic focus:

Fruition focuses on gardening, farming, and local foods in St. Lawrence County, New York. The aim is to showcase the rich food-based offerings of our county. This blog looks to support and highlight resources, community events, and stories that are from or impact our local food scene.

How to submit:

Submissions should be emailed to lko22@cornell.edu. Please no PDFs; content can be copied and pasted into an email or attached in a separate word document. Please attach any images to the email, the highest quality and resolution preferred.

Ethics:

Contributors are responsible for the factual accuracy of their work.

Plagiarism:

Unattributed use of other people’s work is unacceptable and harmful not only to the author but also to the reputation of the blog. Responsibility for any plagiarism will rest with the author.

Length:

Posts should not exceed 1000 words. 

Edits: 

Though no major edits will be made by CCE, revisions may be asked for by the author in order to publish. General spelling and grammar edits can be made 

Rights:

All text published on the CCE Local Foods Blog: Fruition, can be quoted or reproduced elsewhere (like the CCE Newsletter or Facebook Page) with attribution to the author.

Information to be provided by the author:

  • Title of the paper, set in bold.
  • Your name directly below the title.
  • A brief writer’s profile (1-2 sentences)
  • Two or three keywords.
  • An Image
  • The source of your image and any copyright information  
  • Phone number and email address (not for publication)

Images:

Contributors are strongly encouraged to provide one or more illustrations for their post. This may be photographs, graphics or even cartoons. Pictures can be in gif, png, jpg or jpeg format. Please note we reserve the right to curate which images are, or are not, included on our blog.

Additionally, it is essential that we have permission to publish the image, either through a Creative Commons license or through explicit written permission from the copyright owner. Please provide a link to the source of the image if the image is from the internet, with evidence of its free-to-use status.

References:

Please provide any links to resources or information where it makes sense in the article. References may be added to the end of the article instead of in-text links.
