The last planting of the season is starting to head in Hastings, FL, a major winter-production region for Eastern broccoli. University of Florida Prof. Lincoln Zotarelli is running both Quality and Yield Trials in Hastings so adaptation to this production system is addressed properly. Experienced local broccoli producers will inform the quality evaluation. We visited with L&M to see how the spring crop was developing this year, and what the prospects are for extending the spring harvest season.
