New Tool For Tracking Clinical Procedures

A new tool for clinical year students to track common procedures is now available. Clinical year students can access the tracking tool and self-report their experiences through their respective student dashboards. Alternatively, students can scan conveniently posted, service-specific, CUCVM-designed QR codes for on-the-fly procedural logging!

This tracking tool was custom-built for our veterinary college by our IT department, providing a practical and pertinent instrument that seamlessly integrates into the clinical year experience. Through developing and maintaining a procedure log, students can quickly generate an analytic summary of their experiences, thus providing a holistic view of their procedural experiences to date. Ultimately, this summary serves as a source of reflection for recognizing skill strengths and opportunities for clinical skill growth. This self-reflection is instrumental in fostering personal growth, encouraging educational ownership, and promoting a deeper understanding of their evolving skills.

Moreover, the data collected by this tracking tool will provide crucial insights that will guide data-driven decisions to enhance and update the curriculum and ensure optimal clinical opportunities for future students. Your contribution to this data collection is invaluable, and we look forward to sharing the outcomes of this project in future updates!
