The SCALPEL (Strategic Curriculum Advancement in Learned Procedural Excellence for Life) focus team is looking at how to use backward design to start with the end goal of a surgically competent student and develop a series of steps to seed and cultivate surgical skills for all students across the four-year curriculum.
