Two interesting quotes

Jo Handelsman:

Engaged learning, motivational events, and identifying as a scientist are the three critical aspects of people persisting in science.

 

Heard on the radio:

“If you cannot define the problem, then you’ll never resolve the problem”.

Although this was a conversation about a completely different topic, defining the problem is critical when dealing with experimental roadblocks in the lab. Saying that “the experiment didn’t work” is never sufficient.
