This is the second of my posts on foolish and harmful decisions by software developers.
Thunderbird 115.10.1 (and possibly earlier versions) uses its own “print” dialog instead of the operating system’s (on macOS). This makes it impossible to select certain features – for example, two-sided printing.
The fix is not particularly simple:
- In the config editor (Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Config Editor (button)), set this preference:
- set print.prefer_system_dialog to true
Once again the Thunderbird developers have made it more difficult for people to use their product.
