My name is Sammi and I am currently an undergraduate student at Cornell University studying International Agriculture and Rural Development with a concentration in Agricultural and Food Systems. I am especially interested in exploring the challenges surrounding global food insecurity and ways to mitigate this through sustainable agriculture and agroecology. I was inspired to learn more about these issues after spending a summer working in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and gaining exposure to the realities of food deserts and how urban agriculture is an emerging means to combat this.

In my free time, I enjoy studying and learning about new languages and cultures, as well as painting, baking, reading, and arranging songs on my kalimba.
