Introduction and Start of Project!

My name is Rachel Schneider and I a rising sophomore double majoring in Environment & Sustainability and Communication with a minor in Business.

The basis of the first two weeks has been familiarizing myself with the project in Cortland and building background knowledge. I have spent my time reading branding textbook publications, reviewing published research on agricultural branding, and beginning to speak with important community players such as farmers, the Seven Valleys Organization, and farmer’s market owners. Every piece of information and insight into the products, consumers, and issues at hand will be extremely helpful and useful in guiding the branding package.

I am looking forward to spending week 3 up in Cortland visiting markets and speaking with consumers and farmers first hand!
