My second week in the office I mainly focused on reaching out and planning for a 4-H trip for the students in Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School to Cornell University. I have been working on finding accommodations on campus and activities that will engage the students and make them enjoy their visit to campus.
A big part of my week was focused on sending emails and making calls related to the trip, but I also had a chance to attend another of the weekly UNITY meetings in the middle school. This week we focused on painting bird houses for the garden they created in the school. I also began to ask the students what they thought they would enjoy if we visited campus.I also met with some high school students that are planning to go to Summer College at Cornell, answered questions and gave them tips about the summer. This week I was more directly working with the students and the school.
